The Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan (IEC) officials said Wednesday that the final vote results announcement has been delayed.

IEC spokesman, Noor Mohammad Noor said the final vote results announcement has been delayed as the Independent Election Commission of Afghanistan has not received the final decision of Independent Electoral Complaints Commission (IECC).

Noor said the Independent Election Commission (IEC) will require additional time to announce the final results once they receive the final decision of IECC.

This comes as IECC spokesman Nader Mohsini said Tuesday that the electoral complaints commission will submit its final decision to election commission by Tuesday night.

Mohsini said the electoral complaints commission has reviewed all complaints filed against the election results, however he did not disclose information regarding the commission’s findings.

However, Noor said the electoral complaints commission has failed to submit their final decision to election commission and they waited until 10:00 pm last night to receive the final report.
